Mrs. Danko’s American History class is studying the 1920’s and Prohibition, and don’t tell anyone, but Mrs. Danko reenacted an illegal speak-easy for students this week. To get into the classroom you had to knock 3 times and then say, “The big cheese is here” which is really funny. Students dressed in famous characters of the 1920s such as Georgia O’Keeffe, Amelia Earhart, and Al Capone to name a few. Once in the classroom, the student’s enjoyed a “speak-easy” type of atmosphere with hor d’oeuvres, sparkling grape juice, gaming tables, and fancy fabric tablecloths for their desks. So after you read this just “Fuhgeddaboudit!”
