April 3, 2020

Dear Parents and Community Members,

On Tuesday, Governor Pritzker announced the school closure will be extended until April 30, 2020.  During the time of the closure, Illinois school districts will be working under the “Remote Learning Plans”.  As we have shared previously going from a traditional classroom to an internet classroom within weeks is not going to be smooth and without struggles.  However, we are now several days into Remote Learning and it has gone well. I would like to thank our staff for the herculean efforts they have put forth to make this go.  I also want to thank our parents and students for accepting the new format. Pecatonica Schools are one of the top school districts in the State of Illinois. We are one of the best because of our dedicated teachers, staff and our supportive community.

Next week is a short week.  Thursday is a School Improvement Day (SIP)  where dismissal would have been at 11:15am. Our teachers and staff will use the  SIP day to prepare for upcoming Remote Learning opportunities. Friday, April 10 is a non-attendance day as well as Monday, April 13, 2020.  During this long weekend we are encouraging everyone to enjoy their families and stay safe.

I would like to thank our students, parents, grandparents and community members for all of their efforts in this temporary education shift.   We greatly look forward to returning to normal, but until that time we will follow the guidelines we receive from the Illinois State Board of Education, Winnebago County Health Department, and Illinois Department of Public Health.

Please be Safe

Bill Faller
