Six hometown heroes escorted by the Pecatonica Fire and Police Department traveled down Main Street in a Hometown Heroes Parade last Friday, May 10, 2019. Colin Ramsby (Army), Alex Staheli (Army), Logan Joiner (Marines), Kate Alexander (National Guard), Kameron Smith (Marines), and Max Sager (Marines) have committed to serving our country and it was with great pride that our community came out to give them a heroes send off. The parade made its way down Main Street, lined by flags and well wishers and finished up at the Pecatonica High School where our military students and families enjoyed a wonderful speech by #321’s Superintendent, Bill Faller, a former Marine. Piper Turner then introduced the Stonewall Stitchers who presented beautiful handmade quilts for each young service person, followed by Hilary Deppe, whose son is in the Navy, and who gave gifts to Parents who will now have a son or daughter in the military. Thank you Piper Turner and Hillary Deppe for organizing this event. Please go to the Pecatonica Hometown Heroes Facebook page to get more information.
