Pint Size Polkas - The Pecatonica Elementary School had a nationally known polka musician, Uncle Mike, from Pint Size Polkas, visit music classes and perform on Friday, April 17. Mike Schneider (a.k.a. Uncle Mike) is one of the most talented accordion players ever. Students eagerly volunteered to assist Uncle Mike as he presented occupations and introduced many fun polkas dances like ‘Head, Shoulders, Knees & Toes’ and ‘The chicken dance’. He used a variety of hats to teach students occupations by asking, “who might wear this hat?”. Students enjoyed learning while they merrily danced and laughed. Mike is from Clinton, WI where Polka is the Wisconsin State Dance. Thanks Uncle Mike!
